What is a Geode?
A special thanks goes out for Carter! His special Valentine gave him some Geodes to crack open. What's more special than that? Well, he saved one for us to watch him "crack" it open! What a special way to end our day! Thanks so much Carter! This was very COOL!
3 - Dimensional Shapes
For the past 2 weeks, we have been learning all about shapes. What makes them 2-D verses 3-D has been a hot topic. Today, we constructed a few different 3-D shapes and discussed what a vertex, edge & face was. Here is our chart that we made as a class:
As an extracurricular assignment, have your child watch this video. Then, on a piece of paper, have them write 3 things that they have learned about Pyramids. Then, ask them to tell you the difference between a square pyramid and a triangular pyramid. You can sign their paper stating that they completed this. As an award, have him / her bring the paper back to class in exchange for some tickets!
